Luka Va

Luka Va is a Lithuanian-born artist based in Melbourne, Australia. She’s best known for her iconic Surfing Sloth prints, cards, and illustrated paraphernalia. A childhood spent doodling – city cats on window sills, people on the streets of Vilnius – led her into graphic design. Moving to Australia blew her mind. The fourth-generation city slicker didn’t expect to find wildlife – even just feisty possums – in urban environments.

The Collection
Luka’s cheerful, bright, quirky illustrations celebrate Australian city life and its distinctive proximity to nature. She likes to imagine people as friendly, colourful animal illustrations. Hence her menagerie of happy, unfazed critters doing the everyday tasks people normally do. It’s her way of
making tricky life situation less scary.
