Kirrily Anderson

Kirrily Anderson is the visual artist and illustrator behind Paper Trail Studio in Chiltern, Victoria. (A cute town between Wangaratta and Wodonga in the suitably artistic sounding Shire of Indigo.) She grew up in rural NSW, studied in Melbourne, freelanced in graphic design for a couple of decades, and makes murals.

Kirrily’s a bit of a gun. Curator of street art projects and exhibitions like Street Advent and Art de la Roo in Toronto. Shortlisted for the Marie Ellis OAM prize. Won the Abbotsford Convent Foundation’s commissioning initiative Spiritous. Dove straight into Chiltern’s art scene just over a year ago. Set up a studio/gallery. Runs workshops for adults and kids. Knows how to get shit done.

Kirrily’s drawn to the beauty of the natural environment and human form. “I’m inspired by sentiment, beauty, childhood, nature and human emotions in their most subtle forms. Moving in 2017 from the busyness of Melbourne’s creative scene in Collingwood to the still beauty of Chiltern, the tone of my work has come full circle. As I was as a child, I once again feel drawn into and inspired by the fascinating world of my natural environment.
