After ten years of getting to know the nuances in stone, timber and ink we can claim to have a long list of variables in the creation of this substrate. Our understanding has grown over time and with each adventurous new project we learn more.
The production of every stone frame is a personal one.
It begins at our farm on the Mornington Peninsula; recycled, old Victorian hardwood fences and flooring are collected from Melbourne suburbs. These weathered beauties are pulled apart, shaved back and married together to form the frame. The stone is then carefully added, ensuring the balance between timber and stone while adopting both of their natural personalities.
We produce weekly batches that include a collection that has enough variation to suit any print at any time—deep set frames for mantel standing, raw wood, clean, smooth, rough, ash to merbau—just to name a few.
