“I like photographs. Memories, caught in time. An idyllic beach, cerulean waters. A judicious touch – just a touch! – of Photoshop to completely remove my slut ex-girlfriend Pamela and the stinging memory of her marriage to a magnet magnate who “doesn’t talk about the Peloponnesian War all the time god you’re such a loser Kane.” I like stone. The slab of granite resting against my bedroom wall comforts me. Knowing I could tip it onto my awaiting head, instantly snuffing out my life provides succour in a confusing world. Sustainability I’m ambivalent about.

Anyway, it was a catalysing moment when OnStonefounders Nick McGrath and Emma Griffin sent our esteemed spiritual guru Penny Modra a picture of her cat Robert between cigarettes while he was ghostwriting some of the contemptible blather published under my name. Printed directly on stone using fancy UV-cured inks, framed handsomely with reclaimed wood and backed with polystyrene harvested from the wilds of the Victoria Market. No glass interrupting my apperception of the image; no chance of glimpsing my leprous Herve-Villechaize-with-a-beard visage. Just a white, deaf cat and I. Locked in an eternal dance. I knew what truth was when I looked at that OnStone print. I knew what love was. In that moment I understood that everybody should go to their website and upload an image (up to A3 in size) so they can experience redemption such as I just have. Printed in South Melbourne and shipped to your door. Endless possibilities. Mother Gaia will be pleased, the loved ones you may choose to immortalise will be pleased, the walls of your apartment will be pleased. Everything is open to you now, my child. Namaste.” By Kane Daniel

Thank you for the focus, the good writing and the laugh Kane.
